I have put this information on the web site to do my part in educating people in Dallas about a new, better option for divorce. Should you or someone you know be facing this life change, I believe you need to know that this new choice is available -

When children transition smoothly through divorce, parents can move on successfully. Now there is a new, maybe better choice for couples who divorce and have children. It’s called Collaborative Divorce or the Full Team Model. In this model, a team of professionals would be on board from the beginning of the process - two attorneys, one mental health professional, and one financial professional to work with clients in joint meetings.
The mental health professional is neutral toward both parties and functions as a communication coach and responds to emotional needs as they arise.
The financial professional is also in a neutral role toward both parties and educates the two adults as to financial matters.
Only collaboratively trained lawyers should become involved with clients in this process as it requires a completely different approach than traditional divorce. They are not allowed to operate as adversaries but are at all times to operate out of a collaborative approach.
