Thanksgiving Family Chapel Service: November 25th 11:30 AM in the Sanctuary at WHUMC.

The Creative School Family Thanksgiving Service will be held on Tuesday, November 25 at 11:30 AM in the main Sanctuary. We woud like to invite all parents and grandparents to attend this special service. Please pick up your child from his/her classroom and proceed to the Sanctuary. The Kindergarten and Four Year Old classes will sit with their teacher during the service. We would also like to encourage you to send a canned good or some new children’s socks or underwear to school with your child that day. The children will carry their offering into the Sanctuary where it will be placed on the altar. The food will be dontaed to the North Dallas Shared Ministries. The clothing will go to Care 4 Kids. We would also like to invite the M/W/F classes and the afternoon 4s to join us with their families for this meaningful time of worship. There will be noon dismissal for all students following the service.

Your child’s faith development is addressed in weekly Chapel experiences. These are held in the main sanctuary on Mondays and Tuesdays. The pastoral staff of Walnut Hill United Methodist Church, along with Creative School Director Pam Douce lead Chapel Time.

Each month features a specific theme of spiritual formation. Two or three songs are used repeatedly throughout the month so the children learn them well. Each week a different Bible verse, related to the theme, is introduced.

Rev. Ben Shinn, Senior Pastor; Mahlon Hight, Director of Children’s Ministries; and Rev. Jo Biggerstaff, Associate Pastor participate in Chapel leadership on a rotating basis. Occasionally Mrs. Pam Douce, Creative School Director, leads Chapel Time.

Parents are always welcome to attend Chapel Time, either at 11:30 am on Mondays or at 9:15 am on Tuesdays.
